About this Apprenticeship
The level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard has been designed for those in various job roles including office managers, human resources managers and administrative supervisors, or for anyone looking to develop their Business and Administration skills in preparation for enhanced career prospects. This programme can take up to 18 months to achieve and has been has been designed for individuals who may have already developed the practical experience and wish to develop their theoretical understanding of the business sector.

Typical job roles are: Office Administrator, Receptionist, Clerical Assistant, Office Junior/Assistant etc.

Employer Information:
Our Business Engagement team will work with you to recruit an Apprentice to your business, advertising the vacancy, screening the candidates before placing them in a position as well as providing a dedicated account manager and personal 1:1 advice and guidance on apprenticeships.

What will this cost my Business?
Non-levy paying employers will need to contribute 5% of the maximum funding band as published by the Skills Funding Agency for the delivery of training and assessment for their apprenticeship. In this instance the fee is £250.00. However, employers with less than 50 employees who are recruiting an apprentice aged 16-18 years old will not be required to pay the contribution fee (£250.00). Any associated cost to the individual will be made clear at the interview.

Entry requirements
Grade requirements: You will need four GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4, or equivalent.
Other requirements: It is essential to have Level 1 English and maths and desirable to have
Level 2 English and maths.

Course Contents
During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:
• IT
• Record and document production
• Decision making
• Planning and organisation
• Project management
• Policies
• Relevant regulations
• Stakeholders
• Business processes and external environment factors.

Assessment methods
Assessment will take place at the end of the programme and will comprise of an apprentice showcase (Knowledge Test, a Portfolio-based Interview and a Project Presentation).

Qualifications
Where a business administrator has not already achieved Level 2 English and Maths, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment.
Plus Functional Skills in English and Maths

Duration
This apprenticeship will typically take between 12 and 18 months to complete.

Level
This apprenticeship standard is at Level 3.

Further study and career options
Further study: On successful completion you could progress on to the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Business & Professional Administration. Alternatively you could move into further or higher education to undertake business related or other qualifications, including Foundation Degrees in business, business management, or business administration.

Career progression
The administration role may be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles.
